Each week AA Commodities posts a recap of the grain markets. The Market Recap highlights support and resistance areas and current events that are driving the markets each week. The short 3-5 minute videos give producers easy access to trade information and help them efficiently manage hedges when they are busy. The videos are posted on Twitter @aacomm73 and YouTube.
Patrick White is the owner of AA Commodities and Investments in Spencer, Iowa. He grew up on an 800-acre corn and soybean farm west of Spencer. While attending Iowa State University he interned at INTL FCStone, in West Des Moines where he learned how cooperatives commercially hedge. In addition, he worked for a grain marketing firm in Florida where he assisted producers with risk management and hedging.
In 2017, Patrick started his first serious trading account and traded gold futures from his kitchen table while working on his college degree. During his last semester at Iowa State, he purchased AA Commodities Inc. from the Don, Helen, and Tony Anderson family and opened AA Commodities and Investments. AA Commodities Inc was started by Don Anderson in 1973 and has been a local Spencer business since 1976. In May of 2018 Patrick graduated from Iowa State with a B.S. in Agricultural Business.
To stay on top of market moves and trading news Patrick leverages his relationship with the Chicago based EFG Group. The firm consists of three grain marketing professionals who collectively have over 150 years of futures and cash experience in the grain markets. They work with Patrick daily to give his customers the Chicago Advantage right here in rural Iowa.
In his free time Patrick still helps out with his family farming operation and likes to hunt, fish, and enjoy the Iowa Great Lakes.
